Honesty at the inspection
Plenty of our inspections end with us telling a homeowner their roof is fine, or that a small repair will do. That does not make us money that day, but it is the reason people call us back and send their neighbors our way. A roofer who declares every roof totaled after every storm is not inspecting, they are selling.

Doing what the scope says
The proposal we write is the roof we build. Ice and water shield where the scope says, the shingle brand and rating the scope names, new flashing rather than reused, and the ventilation changes we promised. Homeowners are welcome to check the finished roof against the document, and we encourage it.
Substituting cheaper materials after the contract is signed is the quiet way roofers pad margins, and we do not do it.
Respecting the property
A roofing job is loud and messy for a day or two. We protect landscaping, cover AC units and patio furniture, keep the driveway as clear as possible, and run magnets for nails in the yard, the drive and the neighbor's strip. We start at reasonable hours and we do not leave debris in the street.
The way a crew treats a house says a lot about how it treats the roof.
Being there afterward
Warranties matter only if the company answers the phone. We are local, we are easy to find, and when something on a roof we built needs attention we come out and deal with it. That includes questions about a storm years later or help with a claim on a roof we installed.
Follow-through is the part of the job most storm-chasing outfits never get around to.
Getting references
Ask us for addresses of roofs we have completed near you. Drive past them, look at the ridge lines and the flashing, and if you want, knock on the door. We are comfortable with that because the work speaks for itself. A roofer who cannot point you to recent local work is asking you to take a lot on faith.
